“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

“Catholics may not, in any way convince themselves that so enormous and unjust an inequality in the distribution of this world's goods truly conforms to the designs of the all-wise Creator."

UPCOMING & RECENT EVENTS
UPCOMING & RECENT EVENTS

Father Robert J. Smith is our new Pastor at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal – something we can all be grateful for at Thanksgiving time! Fr. Bob brings years of experience to our humble church and parish, and fittingly, he is every bit as fluent in Spanish as Fr. Bill Brisotti. Clearly, Fr. Bob will be a tremendous “human asset” and a terrific addition to our OLMM community, and to our special place / unique role in Wyandanch.

Father Bob, holds a Sacrae Theologiae Doctoral degree, and was ordained in our Diocese of Rockville Center in 1983. Before this milestone, he attended the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, earning his Masters of Divinity in 1983. And after his ordination, he was in Rome (Italy, not New York!) from 1989 until 1993, attending the Pontifical Lateran University (Academia Alfonsiana).

Fortunately, for many Long Island Roman Catholics, Father Bob returned to his native Long Island after his 4 years in Rome....and began a rich career that has spanned a wide range of these diocesan assignments - including his current position as Pastor of St. Hugh's in Huntington.

-St. Hugh of Lincoln, Huntington Station: Pastor (2015 – Present)

-St. James, Setauket: Pastor (2003-2015)

-Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, Huntington: Professor: Moral Theology (1993- 2003); Academic Dean (1996-2003)

-St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Ronkonkoma: Weekend Assistant Priest (1993-2003)

Andy Connolly's Stories....Retired Priest's Career Highlights

in His Own Words

Please view the YouTube video below and listen to some amazing stories "straight from the Father's mouth"!! (But he still would prefer that you don't call him "Father"!) Members of the Roundtable Committee interviewed Andy in 2 different sessions in May, 2019 that yielded a very insightful and compelling tapestry of stories - with a lot of important history of our parish included.

Bill B Newsday Interview.png

CLICK ON IMAGE OF FATHER BILL TO GO DIRECTLY TO NEWSDAY INTERVIEW WITH HIM IN JANUARY, 2016...all about the Tuesday Night Homeless Shelter - a very successful "joint venture" between OLMM and the Gerald Ryan Outreach Center.

Remembering OLMM's Vital Role in Helping the Poor and Destitute

Can you believe???  It was a full 5 years ago that our friend and parishioner Joe Gibbons, with the help and the blessings of Father Bill Brisotti, first opened the Parish Hall to homeless men and women every Tuesday night during the winter months. At our very own Homeless Shelter, these unfortunate folks were able to take showers, get warm and nutritious meals, and have a warm, comfortable place to sleep for the night. At our Tuesday Night Shelter, they also discovered new friends and "guardian angels" from the OLMM Parish community. Newsday interviewed Father Bill and Joe Gibbons about the new effort...when it was just launching in January of 2016.
