Holy Orders

Our Parish Community is blessed with a rich and vibrant liturgical life, where the sacrament of Holy Orders holds a special place. Holy Orders is a time of dedication and commitment as individuals are called to serve God and His Church. We invite you to explore the many aspects of this sacred rite and discover how you can be part of this meaningful sacrament.

Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to His apostles continues to be exercised in the Church. It includes three degrees: deacon, priest, and bishop. Through the laying on of hands and the prayer of consecration, the ordained receive the grace and spiritual power to serve the faithful in various capacities, administering sacraments and guiding the community in their spiritual journey.

The journey to Holy Orders involves a period of discernment and formation. This process includes spiritual direction, theological education, pastoral training, and personal reflection. Men considering a call to the diaconate, priesthood, or episcopacy are encouraged to seek guidance from their parish priest and engage in prayerful discernment.

The sacrament of Holy Orders is typically celebrated during special liturgical ceremonies presided over by the bishop. Candidates are ordained in a solemn Mass that includes the laying on of hands, anointing with chrism, and the prayer of consecration. Families and parishioners are welcome to attend and support those being ordained.
